Snowmass in July Features Community, Adventure, and Athletic Endeavors

Highlights Include the Fridays on the Mall, July 4th Community Celebration, AdventureOUT Snowmass, Yoga on the Mountain, and More

Snowmass Village, Colo., (June 26, 2018) – The July event lineup brings biking, hiking, volleyball, yoga, and much more to Snowmass, featuring a month packed with activities, events, and celebrations.

 

“We kick off July in Snowmass with our second annual 4th of July Community Celebration, and the month takes off from there,” says Rose Abello, Tourism Director, Snowmass Tourism. “July is filled with a diverse lineup of events, featuring quite a few athletic endeavors – Yoga on the Mountain, the Snowmass Doubles Volleyball Tournament, and the Audi Power of Four – to name a few. July also brings spectacular music to Snowmass, including Spin Doctors on July 21st for the Deaf Camp Benefit.”

 

On-going July Events:

 

Tuesdays: Farm to Table Tuesdays & Bonus Bike Park Nights – Tuesdays, 10, 17, 24, 31: In conjunction with the Farm to Table Dinners, where guests can enjoy a free ride up the Elk Camp gondola to the Elk Camp Restaurant and indulge in locally sourced ingredients in a farm-to-table-inspired, a-la-carte dinner with full cash bar, outdoor family activities and live music, the Snowmass Bike Park will extend the park hours to stay open until dusk every Tuesday from July 10-August 21. Riders can purchase a late arrival ticket for $29, valid 2 p.m. until dusk. Click here for more information.

Wednesdays: Snowmass Rodeo – Wednesdays, July 4, 11, 18, 25: The Snowmass Rodeo celebrates 45 years of operations this summer, making it one of the longest continuously running rodeo in Colorado. The Snowmass Rodeo takes place on Wednesdays, rain or shine, throughout the summer.

Thursdays: Snowmass Free Concert Series – Saturday, July 21 & Thursdays, July 5, 12, 19, 26: On Thursdays throughout the summer, with a bonus concert on July 21 for the Deaf Camp Benefit, Snowmass hosts a weekly free concert series on Fanny Hill, showcasing genres of music ranging from reggae, to soul, to funk, to rock. 2018 marks the 27th year of the Snowmass Free Concert Series. Fridays: Fridays on the Mall – Fridays, July 6, 13, 20, 27: Kick off the weekend on the Snowmass Village Mall with music, extended business hours, local artisans, food & drink specials, and more.

 

July Event Lineup:

The July 4th Community Celebration – July 4: Guests and visitors alike are invited to celebrate the Fourth of July evening from 7:30-9:30 p.m. in Snowmass with complimentary lawn games; family entertainment including American Circus Styles where guests can learn modern circus techniques including face painting and balloon animals; an appearance by the Bitsy photobooth; music by DJ G6; a scavenger hunt; free sweet treats; 4th of July themed giveaways; and more. AdventureOUT Snowmass – July 4-8: AdventureOUT Snowmass brings the LGBT community together for a weekend of summer adventure, from hiking to biking, to white water rafting. AdventureOUT Snowmass features a different spin on the Aspen Gay Ski Week Experience, with an emphasis on building community and getting out into nature. AdventureOUT benefits local nonprofit, AspenOUT.

Snowmass Doubles Volleyball Tournament – July 20-22: Volleyball of the Rockies brings the Snowmass Doubles Volleyball Tournament back to Snowmass again this summer. From the organization that produces some of the largest volleyball tournaments in the state, this boutique mountain tournament features sand and grass play at Snowmass Town Park. Spectators are welcome.

Aspen Deaf Camp Benefit & Concert – July 21: Deaf Camp Benefit, established in the 1970’s, supports the Aspen Camp and their programs for deaf and hard of hearing kids. The Deaf Camp Benefit features a silent auction and concert, this year featuring Spin Doctors, with opener Mandy Harvey on the Fanny Hill Stage. The Aspen Deaf Camp Benefit is a free event. Donations are encouraged to support the Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Yoga on the Mountain – July 27-29: The second annual Yoga on the Mountain, presented by Power Yoga Retreats, returns to Snowmass, this time in July, for a three-day festival celebrating yoga, music, and nature. The weekend schedule includes restorative yoga classes, advanced asana workshops, children’s yoga, and focused sessions on mudras, mantras, bandhas and breath work – all mixed with meditation, presentations, and discussions. Get tickets before prices increase on July 11.

Yeti Tribe Gathering – July 27-29: Yeti Tribe is a gathering of Yeti bike owners and enthusiasts coming together for a weekend of camping, singletrack trail riding, and community in Snowmass Village. *By invitation only.

Audi Power of Four Mountain Bike & Trail Run – July 28-29: The Audi Power of Four MTB Race is a yearly mountain bike race over the four mountains that make up Aspen Snowmass. The race starts at the base of Aspen Mountain and finishes in Snowmass. The race covers an estimated 9,000 feet of vertical gain and 9,000 feet of vertical drop over 36 miles on top-rated single and double track routes. The Trail Run traverses Aspen to Snowmass with options for a 50k, 22k, or 10k run.
