Hike or bike a mile and a half to the top of the Rim Trail and you’ll find a stunning yin-yang platform overlooking the splendor above Snowmass Village—Mt. Daly, Snowmass ski area and beyond. It’s the ideal spot to renew yourself with a break, a stretch, or just a quiet period of reflection. The yin-yang is one of Snowmass’s most iconic views.

Take in the Maroon Bell’s from the top of the Elk Camp Chair. Ride the Elk Camp chair to its 11,325-foot summit, walk up to the top of the ridge and take in one of the best views of Colorado’s most famous 14ers—the Maroon Bells. 

One of the longest running rodeos in the state, the Snowmass Rodeo boasts everything from bull riding to team roping, barrel racing, and kids’ mutton busting. Every Wednesday, rain or shine, the rodeo kicks off promptly at 7 p.m., but come when the gates open at 5 p.m. for a petting zoo, kids roping, mechanical bull rides, a cowboy saloon, and the famous BBQ dinner.

The Snowmass Bike Park keeps getting bigger and better. With downhill and cross-country trails accessible from the top of Elk Camp Gondola and Elk Camp Chair. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced downhill and cross-country trails provide a thrilling variety of experiences that keeps any rider wanting more.

A favorite Thursday event for visitors and locals alike is the Snowmass Free Concert Series. Often featuring a unique mix of up and coming artists and established favorites, this local series is a must-attend for anyone in Snowmass on a Thursday night.

The second weekend of September, the Snowmass Balloon Festival fills the sky with one of the highest-altitude hot air balloon events in the country. Over three days, 30 pilots compete in challenges and races, as spectators of all ages take in the magic (for free) from Snowmass Town Park.

The annual Heritage Fire is a whole-animal, live-fire culinary experience featuring 40 notable chefs and butchers cooking 3,000 pounds of heritage bread animals over hand built fires in a beautiful alpine setting. Thursday night’s Rustic Grind pairs wood-fired heritage breed proteins with handcrafted cocktails and live music.

One of the most anticipated events of the summer, the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience draws more than 10,000 people to Snowmass for three days of world-class music.
