Snowmass, Colorado Welcomes the 2025 Holiday Season with Mountain Magic and Timeless Tradition

From Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve, Snowmass Village shines with community celebrations, festive events, Wintersköl fun, Santa’s Village, and a dazzling Torchlight Parade

Snowmass Village, Colo., (November 20, 2025) – Snowmass Village, CO, is a picturesque winter destination surrounded by majestic snow-capped peaks and world-class ski slopes. Adorned with festive lights and a cozy, welcoming spirit, the village comes alive for the 2025 holiday season. From Thanksgiving through New Year’s, visitors can enjoy a variety of special events and experiences that capture the magic of the holidays. 

“The holidays in Snowmass are truly something special,” says Julia Theisen, Tourism Director, Snowmass Tourism. “There’s an unmistakable sense of joy in the air, with families skiing together, twinkling lights illuminating the village, and the excitement of Santa’s arrival. Add to that the energy of Wintersköl and Santa’s Village, and you’ve got a season that’s full of laughter, connection, and unforgettable memories.” 

Thanksgiving Feasts  
Kick off the holidays in Snowmass with the John Bemis Community Potluck, a beloved community Thanksgiving event with a 30+ year history, on Sunday, November 23 from 4:30pm to 8:00pm at the Viewline Resort Snowmass. Doors and a cash bar open at 4:30pm, the community welcome and blessing take place at 5:00pm. Dinner is served at 5:15pm. The menu includes traditional Thanksgiving fixings. Community members are encouraged to bring a dish to share and non-perishable donations to local non-profit, Harvest For Hunger. Last names beginning A-K, are asked to bring a side/salad; L-Z last names should bring a dessert. The event is free to attend. 

Enjoy a chef-inspired three-course Thanksgiving dinner at Toro at the Viceroy Snowmass, featuring holiday classics with a Pan-Latin twist, $85 per person, $45 for kids 5-12. Staying in? Gather for a thoughtfully curated Thanksgiving dinner at home, courtesy of Toro. Up to 6 guests can enjoy turkey, salad, sides and pumpkin pie for $250. Pre-order by 12:00pm on Monday, November 24th. 

Heather’s Snowmass celebrates the start of the winter season with a Thanksgiving feast beginning at 5:00pm, featuring live music by Wild Flight at 6:00pm. Enjoy a roasted brined turkey and sides for $80, a glazed country ham with all the fixings for $60, with both meals featuring breads and desserts. À la carte options are available. 

Starting Thanksgiving Day (also opening day at Snowmass), guests of all ages can enjoy Snowmass S’mores, free starting at 3:30pm daily throughout the winter season, presented by Snowmass Tourism. Guests can find branded s’mores carts (which resemble oversized marshmallows) in Snowmass Base Village and on the Snowmass Mall, offering the classic s’mores fixings of marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers, for guests to roast and assemble around cozy firepits. 

Wintersköl in Snowmass 
Wintersköl, a beloved 74-year tradition celebrating “a toast to winter”, takes place December 11-14 in Aspen and Snowmass Village. For the full Wintersköl calendar, please visit aspenchamber.org/events/winterskol. 

 

Winter Windows returns for its second season during Wintersköl, December 11–14, with an awards ceremony on Friday, December 12, and community voting open through December 2025. Now expanded to include Snowmass Base Village, Winter Windows is a partnership with Buckhorn Public Arts. Roaring Fork Valley artists and designers are paired with businesses along the Snowmass Mall and in Base Village to create window displays that celebrate the winter season and the character of Snowmass. Winter Window displays remain on view through December 2025. 

 

The Collective Snowmass hosts the Winter Holiday Market, December 12 from 5:00pm-8:00pm and December 13 from 1:00pm-5:00pm in the Snowmass Conference & Events Center in Base Village. The Winter Holiday Market features 20+ local artists from the Roaring Fork Valley. Discover unique, handcrafted gifts and one-of-a-kind treasures, perfect for everyone on the list. Also taking place on December 12, local photographer Tamara Susa celebrates the launch of her new photography book, Four Seasons in Snowmass. Over the past decade Susa has photographed Snowmass’ changing moods including the first dusting on the ridgelines, alpine meadows bursting with wildflowers, and quiet, snow-blanketed trails, all creating a visual tribute to the landscape’s subtle seasonal beauty. 

 

Holiday Merriments Around Snowmass 
Snowmass Village lights up for the holiday season on Friday, December 5 at 5:30pm with the annual Light Up the Night tree lighting ceremony at and around the Snowmass Chapel. Enjoy cocoa, carols, a countdown, and an in-person visit from Santa Claus. Over 40 trees light up the night, making for a stunning picturesque display. 

Celebrate Hanukkah at The Collective Snowmass with a large Menorah on display December 14- 22, 2025 and a special Menorah Lighting Ceremony on Monday, December 15 at 6:00pm. The Collective Snowmass comes alive with even more merriment in Santa’s Village, December 21-24, complete with nutcrackers, inflatable snowmen, decorative lights, candy canes, art workshops, crafts, music, comedy, and more. Guests can take free photos at a festive photobooth daily. Real reindeer take center stage on The Collective patio on December 21, 22, and 23 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Santa also comes home to Santa’s Village, while Sensory Friendly Santa, in conjunction with Challenge Aspen, and Dog Santa, make an appearance. 

 

Join Anderson Ranch Arts Center on December 17 from 5:00pm to 8:30pm for a celebratory evening of creativity and community. The Winter Benefit Dinner features a family-friendly art-making activity, a studio tour, a thoughtfully prepared farm-to-table dinner, and a live auction showcasing bespoke Ranch experiences and artworks. Proceeds directly support the Ranch’s artistic programming. 

 

The Limelight Snowmass celebrates the holiday season with a lineup of elevated winter experiences. From December 20 through January 1, guests can enjoy an enhanced breakfast buffet featuring a meat and cheese board and smoked salmon, along with daily Cookies & Cider in the upper lounge from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Families are invited to share their wishes in Santa’s Letter Box in the lobby (December 12–24), enjoy live caricature art by Kenneth Carpenter (December 22 & 29), and face painting and balloon art by Kidtoons Productions (December 23 & 30). The festivities culminate on New Year’s Eve with a sparkling wine toast and a viewing of the New York City ball drop on the big screen in the Living Room at 10:00pm. 

 

Viceroy Snowmass transforms into a festive mountain retreat this December with holiday décor, family-friendly activities, and seasonal celebrations. Guests can enjoy snowman-making kits, guided snowshoeing, kids’ scavenger hunts, and warm cookies and hot chocolate December 5–6 and 12–13, and daily from December 19–31. The lobby comes alive with a grand Christmas tree, gingerbread house, menorah lighting (December 19–27), carolers (December 18), and Santa meet-and-greets (December 20, 22, and 24), alongside creative touches like letters to Santa and cookie decorating.  

 

Christmas Traditions  

Holidays carolers, the Holiday Bell Tones, bring festive cheer to the Snowmass Mall and Snowmass Center, singing crowd favorites, December 21-24 from 2:00pm to 3:40pm, with a bonus performance on the Snowmass Mall on December 26 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. On Christmas Eve, guests can attend Christmas Eve Services at the Snowmass Chapel offered at 4:00pm, 6:00pm and 8:00pm. The 4:00pm service will be slightly shorter with young children in mind. 

At the Viceroy Snowmass, Lift Line, Viceroy Snowmass’s newest restaurant, presents a three-course Christmas dinner ($150 for adults and $75 for children) and a New Year’s Eve prix fixe menu ($250 for adults and $125 for children) with optional wine or champagne pairings at an additional cost. TORO Latin Kitchen & Lounge at Viceroy Snowmass offers a Christmas Day buffet ($195 for adults and $85 for children) and a lavish New Year’s Eve celebration featuring a decadent buffet, live music, DJ entertainment, and unlimited champagne ($850 for adults, $425 for children; after-party only $500). 

New Year’s Revelries 
On New Year’s Eve, guests and locals alike are invited to experience the Torchlight Parade and Fireworks. The Torchlight Parade features skiers and snowboarders making wide turns down the mountain with red flares that illuminate the night sky and snow with a festive glow. The parade begins at 6:00pm and all are welcome to participate (must be an intermediate skier or above with a valid ski pass or day pass; must sign up online in advance on December 28 starting at 8:00am). Fireworks launch at 10:00pm to celebrate the New Year.   

Rock Island Oyster Bar and Grill commemorates New Year’s Eve with a swinging party featuring with live music and complimentary champagne at midnight. Reservations are highly recommended, and the kitchen is open late. Walk-ins are welcome and there is no entry fee.  

 

The Collective Snowmass hosts a festive, family friendly, New Year’s Eve celebration from 7:00pm to 10:00pm featuring DJ Tenza, party favors, an East Coast ball drop, and a complimentary champagne toast. Keep the party going with bites and drinks from Slope & Hatch, the newest addition to Base Village and a Roaring Fork Valley favorite, serving up tacos, hot dogs, loaded fries, great beer, and craft cocktails.
