Town of Snowmass Village Announces Round II of Love a Local Economic Stimulus Program

Love a Local Provides $25 to Spend in Snowmass Village

Snowmass Village, Colo., (August 28, 2020) – Continue to share the love in Snowmass! Back for its second iteration, Love a Local is an economic stimulus program created by the Town of Snowmass Village to promote shopping local at businesses within Snowmass Village.

Vouchers for $25 will be mailed to PO Boxes in Aspen and Snowmass Village, as well as all resident addresses in Basalt. Vouchers are expected to hit mailboxes the week of August 31, 2020. Voucher recipients can redeem vouchers for ANY purchase at participating businesses. Vouchers must be redeemed in one transaction and have no cash value. The new vouchers expire on October 31, 2020.

“Love a Local, the vouchers, and the extended marketing campaign has been well received by both merchants and recipients,” says Rose Abello, Tourism Director, Snowmass Tourism. “The first round was intended to incent July visits and spend by both TOSV residents and others in the valley. It was rewarding to see that it worked in that 58% of the vouchers redeemed were from recipients from outside of the Village.”

The Love a Local program is part of a larger campaign to encourage residents and visitors alike to keep their business within Snowmass and to shop as local as possible. The first round of Love a Local vouchers, which expired on July 31, 2020, paid out approximately $50,000 to Snowmass businesses. Around 42% were redeemed by Snowmass Village residents, while 58% were redeemed from residents outside of Snowmass Village.

Participation is open to all businesses who have a Town of Snowmass Village business license and a physical location in Snowmass Village. Businesses already registered for the first round of Love a Local are automatically registered for the second round and do not need to register again. Businesses can redeem vouchers for $25 each with the Finance Department at Snowmass Town Hall. Additional details for participation and voucher redemption are provided at tosv.com/love. Participating businesses in Love a Local can be found at www.gosnowmass.com/love.

In addition to the $25 vouchers, Love a Local is an integrated marketing initiative focused on strengthening the local Snowmass community. The program, which includes a marketing campaign featuring newspaper, radio, digital ads, and more, aims to support restaurants, retailers, and other businesses in Snowmass Village throughout the summer and fall.
