Rock for a Reason Debuts on Fanny Hill on Saturday, July 13, 2019

Community Focused Concert Event Showcases Local Nonprofits

Snowmass Village, Colo., (July 2, 2019) – New to Snowmass’ July event lineup is Rock for a Reason, a community-focused concert on Saturday, July 13 at 6:30pm. Traditionally the week of the Deaf Camp Benefit, Rock for a Reason acts as a placeholder this summer while the Deaf Camp is closed to campers.

Local non-profits will be out in force on Fanny Hill to advocate for their unique causes. The concert is in conjunction with the Snowmass Free Concert Series (bonus Saturday) and features music from The Greatest Hits on Earth – Live! ® presents Spectrum of Soul™ Featuring Skip Martin formerly of Kool & The Gang ™ & Special Guest(s).

“Get ready to rock for a great cause!” says Rose Abello, Tourism Director, Snowmass Tourism. “Rock for a Reason is an awesome opportunity to learn more about our valley’s local nonprofits and their missions, while enjoying a great band.”

Visitors and locals are invited to take advantage of opportunities to get involved, sign up to volunteer, become a member, make a donation, purchase cool swag, and find out more details on what local non-profits have to offer. Non-profits in attendance include, but are not limited to:

  • American Renewable Energy Institute
  • Anderson Ranch Arts Center
  • Aspen Camp for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Aspen Strong
  • Challenge Aspen
  • JAS Aspen Snowmass
  • Mountain Rescue Aspen
  • Snowmass Community Foundation
  • Trashmasters

In addition, the Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is again the beneficiary of profits from alcoholic beverage sales at the Snowmass Free Concert Series, including at Rock for a Reason. New this summer, in partnership with Snowmass Tourism, patrons can purchase a special $10 re-usable aluminum cup, which entitles the cup holder to $1 off on the cost of drink refills. These specially designed cups aim to help to minimize waste and are a worthwhile investment for those attending concerts all summer. For one-time visitors, proceeds from each purchase go directly to support the Camp.
