Winter 2023/2024 Events & Activities Lineup in Snowmass Village, CO

Game of Stones, Aspen Gay Ski Week, Snowmass S’mores, Mardi Gras, NASTAR Nationals, and More Return to Snowmass this Winter

Snowmass Village, Colo., (November 9, 2023) – Today, Snowmass Tourism announces the activity and event lineup for the 2023/2024 winter season. Activities include crowd favorites such as Music on the Mall, Snowmass S’mores, and Game of Stones, to name a few. The 2023/2024 event lineup features Snowmass’ increased participation in Aspen Gay Ski Week, Mardi Gras, Mother of All Ascensions Uphill Race, National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic, and more. 

 

“With activities like Snowmass S’mores, Game of Stones, Music on the Mall, etc. there is something unique and fun to do on and off the slopes every day in Snowmass,” says Rose Abello, Tourism Director, Snowmass Tourism. “Not to mention, Snowmass is home to a great lineup of events this winter including Valley-wide favorites like Mardi Gras and Aspen Gay Ski Week.” 

 

Winter 2023/2024 Winter Activities  
Snowmass S’mores: Starting on opening day of ski season (November 23), guests of all ages can enjoy Snowmass S’mores, free starting at 3:30 p.m. daily throughout the winter season, presented by Snowmass Tourism. Guests can find branded s’mores carts (which resemble oversized marshmallows) in Snowmass Base Village and on the Snowmass Mall, featuring delicious s’mores treats. www.gosnowmass.com/activity/snowmass-smores/  

 

Music on the Mall: Every Friday, starting November 24, 2023, through April 12, 2024, Music on Mall returns to Snowmass, featuring live music on the Tower Stage during après. Music on the Mall runs from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in November, December, January, and February and moves to 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. in March and April. Performances feature local Roaring Fork Valley musicians. www.gosnowmass.com/events 

 

Bud Light Game of Stones: Curling returns to Snowmass with the ever-popular Game of Stones curling series on The Rink in Snowmass Base Village. Running (most) Thursdays starting January 4 through the end of February, teams of two compete in a head-to-head elimination competition. The first team to reach 10 points wins! Game of Stones takes place from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.; register on site. Weather dependent. www.gosnowmass.com/events 

 

The Collective Snowmass: The Collective Snowmass, the hub for community activity in Snowmass Base Village, features a weekly lineup of events including bingo, chess, comedy, après live music, Disco on the Rink, and more. Be sure to head downstairs to check out the Selfie Den and the Game Lounge, free from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m., $10/person for anyone 6 years or older from 4:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. www.TheCollectiveSnowmass.com

 

Ullr Nights: In honor of the Norse God of Snow, Ullr, Ullr Nights return to Snowmass this winter season. Take an evening gondola ride up the Elk Camp Gondola to the Elk Camp Restaurant for winter themed fun, including tubing, rides on the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster, snowbiking, a bonfire, s’mores, and hot cocoa. Enjoy an à la carte culinary celebration from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Winter 2023/2024 Ullr Night Dates – December 27, December 29, February 16, February 23, March 15, March 22. Winter 2023/2024 Winter Events  

Wintersköl – January 11-14, 2024: Wintersköl, Aspen’s four day annual “toast to winter”, showcases on-mountain activities, snow sculptures, a soup contest, new beer festival, live music, a community bonfire, fireworks over Aspen Mountain, and much more. Snowmass Village based Anderson Ranch Arts Center participates in the annual “Kidsculpt”, which challenges school teams to carve unique creations out of blocks of snow. Kidsculpt takes place on January 12 from 9:00 -11:30 a.m. on 4×4’ snow blocks near Wagner Park in Aspen.  aspenchamber.org/events/winterskol

 

Aspen Gay Ski Week – January 15-21, 2024: Snowmass increases its participation in Aspen Gay Ski Week (AGSW), the longest running Ski Week in the country, celebrating 47 years in 2024. New for 2024, AGSW features host hotels and dedicated Snowmass events that focus on building community and getting outdoors. Events include a drag brunch to kick off the week on Sunday; Snowmass Ski Day with après and karaoke at the Viewline Resort Snowmass on Tuesday; a comedy show at The Collective Snowmass on Wednesday; a late night party at The Collective Snowmass on Friday; and youth and community day on Saturday, in partnership with the Roaring Fork Valley chapter of PFLAG, giving local LGBTQ youth an opportunity to be part of the celebratory vibe of AGSW. Participating Snowmass lodging partners give a portion of room proceeds to AspenOUT, AGSW’s presenting non-profit, for the duration of the week, and Blazing Adventures offers a Rainbow Express shuttle to and from Snowmass for major events. Mother of All Ascensions Uphill – February 3-13, 2024: The 32nd Annual Mother of All Ascensions returns to Snowmass in 2024. Strap on a pair of snowshoes, AT boots, telemark gear, or stabilizers to complete the route from Snowmass Base Village to the High Alpine Marketplace in one go, 2,073 feet of elevation gain, between February 3 and February 13. This year there is no specific race on Fat Tuesday. Instead, participants must register for the race online and have 10 days to complete the course. Mardi Gras – February 13, 2024: Over 40 years of Mardi Gras tradition returns to Snowmass Village on Fat Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Festivities include a Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert and a Bead Toss featuring the 2024 Mardi Gras King & Queen. www.gosnowmass.com/events 

 

2024 Stifel Aspen Winternational – March 1-3, 2024: For the culmination of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup circuit in the U.S., Aspen Snowmass hosts men’s tech races for the 2024 Stifel Aspen Winternational on March 1-3, 2024. International racers compete in slalom and giant slalom on Aspen Mountain, and Aspen Snowmass hosts spectating, ceremonies and events surrounding the races as part of the Winternational celebration. Aspen Snowmass has hosted more than 100 World Cup races for both men and women over the years, including the World Cup Finals in 2017 and the Stifel America’s Downhill™ downhill and super-G races last season. The Winternational event has been a cornerstone of Aspen World Cup ski racing since 1981, and this season’s event marks the return of the wintertime festival tradition. www.aspensnowmass.com      

 

National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic – April 1-7, 2024: More than 400 Veterans with qualifying disabilities participate in this annual winter adaptive sports event, hosted by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and DAV (Disabled American Veterans). The clinic, hosted in Snowmass for the past 21 years, is the world leader in adaptive winter sports and offers Veterans the opportunity to participate in downhill and cross-country skiing, sled hockey, and other adaptive sports workshops and classes. Veterans with TBIs, spinal cord injuries, visual impairments, amputations, and other severe disabilities are challenged to overcome perceived limitations. The clinic is made possible by hundreds of volunteers, corporate partners, nonprofit organizations, and individual donors. www.wintersportsclinic.org  

 

NASTAR Nationals – April 8-13, 2024: The NASTAR National Championships return to Snowmass, April 8-13, 2024. The Championships were first held at Snowmass in 1998 and from 2013-2015, then again in the 2021, 2022, and 2023 seasons. NASTAR offers recreational racing at resorts across the country and participants can compete and compare their scores to friends and family regardless of when and where they race. www.gosnowmass.com/events
