Join founders Brian and Claudia Pawl, who created Mezcla Socials Dance, for an hour of salsa lessons and an hour of social dance in Snowmass.

Mezcla Socials Dance was created with the mission of bringing people together through dance. Mezcla reflects how a dance community can break down even the most challenging barriers simply by showing up! Salsa Nights at Jimmy’s American Restaurant in Aspen, CO were a bright and vibrant introduction to the Salsa world in the Roaring Fork Valley. After Jimmy’s was unable to consistently host these salsa nights, Brian and Claudia decided it was time to create something new for the community and to keep the dancing spark alive. The driving force? Love for dancing!

About Brian and Claudia
This couple enjoys all dance styles and forms of dance expression. They have been involved in the dance scene in many ways for quite some time. Before meeting each other, and after becoming a couple. Brian has danced since High School and participated in contests, dance marathons and performances. He was in the “Dancing through the Decades” show which featured: Charleston, Swing, Lindy Hop, Twist, Disco and Urban Cowboy Swing. Brian also taught Two Step and Line dancing in Texas through his social circle and a youth program. He learned Tango and was introduced to Salsa and other Latin dances at dance socials in the Roaring Fork valley.

Claudia grew up having dance as part of her life, she participated in classes and performances for Modern, Contemporary and Traditional Regional dance in Mexico since the age of 3. Moved to the US in the early 90s where she performed Folklorico dances at Mountain Fair and other events for a number of years. She discovered the Salsa scene in 2000 and fell in love with the energy, passion and culture of the dance. She performed at Mélange which featured Tango, Salsa, and live music at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen. In 2015 Brian and Claudia created Mezcla Socials Dance, an organization focused on acceptance and community. They have since been training, performing, and learning from other professionals to improve their dance skills. They performed at the Denver Congress, events in the Roaring Fork Valley, Colorado Springs, the Maui Salsa Bachata Congress, and recently at Aspen Ideas Fest, Aspen Food and Wine Fest and Denver Bachata Fest. Mezcla collaborates with organizations such as Dance Initiative, The Carbondale Arts, The Basalt Chamber, The RFV Dancers, TACAW, and Love Rocks Studio to bring more dance opportunities and performances to local and out-of-town artists and the community. Brian and Claudia firmly believe that dance is for everyone.
