Balloon Festival Event Details
The iconic Snowmass Balloon Festival returns to Snowmass Village for its 46th year, September 10-12, 2021. This FREE event will include three days of morning balloon launches, Gitsie’s coffee and provisions food truck, and a Friday evening Balloon Night Glow.
Spectators are encouraged to drive in, hike up, or bike around to take in the sights and sounds of the morning balloon launches taking place 7:00am-9:00am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Click here for a “how-to” guide to hiking and biking Snowmass’ trails for best balloon viewing.
To watch the balloons from the comfort of your car, parking is available on a first come first served basis at Town Park Station, Rodeo Lot and along Brush Creek Road (between Horse Ranch and Meadow Drive). The field will also be open to the public for up close viewing of the launch and will host a breakfast food truck – please note there will NOT be a bounce house this year.
To view the balloons from Snowmass’ trails, read our “how-to” guide that details where to park and what trails offer the best views for hikers and bikers. Free parking can be found at the Brush Creek Park and Ride, the Snowmass Rodeo Lot, the Tom Blake Trailhead, Little Red Schoolhouse, the Snowmass Mall, and the Snowmass Base Village Parking Garage. These lots are for day use only; guests are not permitted to park and sit in their cars to watch the festival in these lots. Instead, please register to watch from the designated parking area at Town Park and along Brush Creek.
In honor of the 20th Anniversary of September 11, the Snowmass Balloon Festival is pleased to offer free rides for active or retired military, firefighters, police, EMTs, and paramedics. Rides occur only on Saturday, September 11 from 6:30am-9:00am. You must be available for the entire time frame. Rides are for single riders only, no families.
