Where is the Snowmass Visitor Center located?

The Snowmass Visitor Center is located at the entrance to Snowmass Village in Town Park and is open 7 days a week from 8:00am to 2:30pm throughout the winter season.

Parking is FREE. Take advantage of the FREE Snowmass Village shuttle to reach the Mall and Base Village from Town Park. While you wait for the bus, relax in the Visitor Center’s lounge area with complimentary wifi, restrooms, and water bottle filling stations.

The Snowmass Visitor Center provides a variety of services, including:

  • Guest services and friendly personnel ready to assist with questions.
  • Local information and brochures about Snowmass Village and surrounding areas.
  • Guidance on shuttle routes and other travel information.
  • Information on the Snowmass Ice Age Discovery and its activities.

What is the Snowmass Ice Age Discovery?

In 2010, Snowmass Village was the scene of one of the most significant ice age discoveries of all time. Hundreds of people rallied to unearth thousands of prehistoric fossils from Ziegler Reservoir.

Ask the Guest Services team about how to immerse yourself in the Snowmass Ice Age Discovery and Passport Walk. You’ll find educational brochures, displays, and helpful staff who can share insights about the region’s Ice Age history and activities related to the discovery.

How do I get to Base Village from Town Park?

When getting off the bus at the roundabout, look across the road to the large, overhead arched sign that says “Snowmass Base Village.” Walk to that sign. Once there, go up the steps under the sign into the One Snowmass West building and take the corridor to the right. Just before the glass doors, take the escalator on the left or the elevator on the right up to the Base Village (note: stairs are also an option next to the escalator). Exit the building and walk straight ahead passed The Collective and Crepe Shack, the gondola will up the stairs and on the left.

How do I get back to Town Park from Base Village?

Refer to the directions above in getting from the Roundabout to Base Village and then re-trace those steps back to the escalator/elevator lobby of the One Snowmass West building. Take either down, back to the main floor. When you reach the bottom, go through the glass doors into the covered garage area for Buses/Shuttles. Cross the Transit Center to position “F” this is where buses for Town Park/Rec Center/Rodeo Lot leave from.
