Movies Under The Stars – Napoleon Dynamite

In partnership with Aspen Film, Movies Under the Stars will showcase family-friendly screenings featuring movies from the 1970’s and 80’s, on the rink.

Free movie and popcorn will be provided, and viewers are encouraged to bring blankets or low-profile chairs, a picnic and non-alcoholic beverages.  Adult beverages and takeout dinners will be available for purchase at Snowmass Base Village restaurants, such as Base Camp and State 38, to be enjoyed on and around the rink.

The movie will start at dusk around 8:00 pm, depending on the light

Napoleon Dynamite (2004)

In small-town Preston, Idaho, awkward teen Napoleon Dynamite (Jon Heder) has trouble fitting in. After his grandmother is injured in an accident, his life is made even worse when his strangely nostalgic uncle, Rico (Jon Gries), shows up to keep an eye on him. With no safe haven at home or at school, Napoleon befriends the new kid, Pedro (Efren Ramirez), a morose Hispanic boy who speaks little English. Together the two launch a campaign to run for class president.
