Summer Heats Up in Snowmass Village: July 2022 Event Lineup

Events Include the New Drishti Beats Yoga & Music Festival, the Return of the Snowmass Art Festival, Movies Under the Stars, Heritage Fire, & More

Snowmass Village, Colo., (June 20, 2022) – July in Snowmass Village continues a tradition of robust summer events. New to the July event lineup is the Drishti Beats Yoga & Music Festival, July 8-10, featuring yoga classes, lectures, and a music lineup highlighting some of the top artists of downtempo electronic chill and house music. Returning to the July calendar are favorites including Heritage Fire, Triple Crown World Series, Movies Under the Stars, the Snowmass Art Festival, and much more.

“July is an amazing month in Snowmass,” says Rose Abello, Tourism Director, Snowmass Tourism. “And our events add fun options for every kind of guest or local, whether you are a music lover, a foodie, a yogi, a movie buff, an artist, or an athlete.”

July 2022 Event Lineup

Movies Under the Stars – July 2 – August 20: Returning for the fourth summer, Movies Under the Stars, presented by The Collective Snowmass in partnership with Aspen Film and Adventure Entertainment, continues the dusk movie tradition in Snowmass Base Village on most Saturday evenings in July and August. Gather family and friends, pack a picnic, and enjoy movie screenings at dusk, hosted by The Collective Snowmass. Viewers are encouraged to bring blankets or low-profile chairs, a picnic, and non-alcoholic beverages. www.TheCollectiveSnowmass.com. 

Snowmass Art Festival – July 2-4: The Snowmass Art Festival is a juried art show featuring original handcrafted artwork. This free three-day event showcases local Colorado and national artists, representing a wide array of mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, glass, wood, and more. Taking place in Snowmass Base Village, this outdoor festival is surrounded by a world-class resort, beautiful mountains, countless recreational activities, and outstanding shops, restaurants, and hotels. Entry to the festival is free, while artwork is individually priced. 11:00am – 7:00pm on Saturday, 11:00am-8:00pm on Sunday, and 10:00am-3:00pm on Monday. www.gosnowmass.com/event/snowmass-art-festival/

Independence Day Weekend Celebration & Concert – July 3: Celebrate Independence Day on Sunday, July 3 in Snowmass! Enjoy a festive free evening of live music on the Fanny Hill Stage, sweet treats, and free glow in the dark goodies. Anderson Ranch Summer Series: Featured Artists & Conversations – Thursdays, starting July 7: The annual Summer Series features some of the most influential artists of this age, and explores the work of world-renowned creators and curators, and hosts conversations with today’s most significant critics and collectors in both lecture and Q&A formats. Past artist participants include Simone Leigh (2021), Deana Lawson (2020), Nick Cave (2019), Sanford Biggers (2019), Ai Weiwei (2018), Doug Aitken (2017), The Haas Brothers (2016), Frank Stella (2015), Theaster Gates (2014), and Marina Abramović (2013). The Summer Series is part of a full slate of creative public programming at Anderson Ranch throughout the year. The Summer Series takes place on Thursdays at 12:30pm on 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28 and 8/4. Snowmass Doubles Volleyball Tournament – July 7-10: Volleyball of the Rockies brings this boutique mountain tournament to Snowmass Village again for summer 2022. *New – 2022 Drishti Beats Yoga & Music Festival – July 8-10: The 2022 Drishti Beats Yoga & Music Festival in Snowmass Village, CO explores the symbiotic connection between music, yoga, and the outdoors. Each carefully selected yoga class features curated music, creating a beautiful and magical experience, led by a notable yoga instructor. The three-day festival features yoga classes, lectures, and a music lineup highlighting some of the top artists of downtempo electronic chill and house music. Audi Power of Four Run – July 9: Now in its tenth year, the Audi Power of Four Trail Run, presented by Aspen Snowmass, is a challenging 50K Ultra, part of the US Skyrunner Series. The race spans the four Aspen Snowmass mountains, utilizing a mix of singletrack and dirt roads. The event also offers a 25K race along the famed Government Trail across Buttermilk and Snowmass, as well as a 10K beginning and ending in Snowmass. Anderson Ranch Annual Art Auction & Community Picnic – July 16: An Anderson Ranch tradition for over 40 years, the Annual Art Auction & Community Picnic brings people together for an afternoon of fun and excitement. Live and silent auctions feature works of art — typically more than 200 — by top contemporary artists and locals alike. Alongside the auctions are engaging art-based activities for all ages, delicious picnic-style foods and live music. The Annual Art Auction & Community Picnic is the culmination event of Recognition Week (kicking off the week of July 11, with the Recognition Dinner held on Thursday, July 14). A fundraiser at heart, all proceeds from the day directly benefit Anderson Ranch educational programs. www.andersonranch.org.

Triple Crown World Series – July 19-24: The Triple Crown World Series takes place this summer in the Roaring Fork Valley, giving guests and locals the opportunity to watch the best of youth baseball. Headquartered in Snowmass, the Triple Crown World Series is a Valley-wide sporting event, featuring youth baseball games (9D2, 11D2, 12D2, 14D2) with regional and national attendees. Opening ceremonies take place in Snowmass, with spectator opportunities available throughout the week. Heritage Fire – July 30: America’s beloved, live-fire, open-air culinary experience, Heritage Fire by Cochon555, returns to Snowmass Base Village on Saturday, July 30, with an all-star cast of chefs who specialize in whole animal cookery. Heritage Fire Snowmass showcases more than 25 notable chefs, each grilling heritage-breed animals en plein air against the Rocky Mountain backdrop, and each inspired by global food cultures. The list of heritage and heirloom foods includes dry-aged beef, whole pigs, lamb, goat, squab, rabbit, duck, fish, chicken, artisan cheeses, oysters and heirloom vegetables. www.gosnowmass.com/event/heritage-fire.

July 2022 Activations & On-going Activities

Snowmass Rodeo – July 6-August 17: The Snowmass Rodeo celebrates 48 years of operations this summer. This long-standing Western tradition is a Snowmass summer staple, complete with music, cowboys and cowgirls, horses, livestock, and family fun. The Snowmass Rodeo takes place on Wednesdays at 7:00pm, rain or shine, with two rodeos on July 6 at 1:00pm and 7:00pm. www.SnowmassRodeo.org

Snowmass Free Concert Series: 30 Years of Music – July 7-August 25: Celebrating 30 years of free live music this summer, the Snowmass Free Concert Series, a local’s favorite, long standing summer tradition, returns to Fanny Hill every Thursday evening at 6:30pm through August 25. The weekly outdoor series features a spectrum of sounds including soul, pop, funk, rock & roll, country, bluegrass, and folk, with special nods to Fanny Hill concert’s past. The 2022 lineup includes beloved acts such as the Freddy Jones Band and Hazel Miller, while exciting new performers include MarchFourth, Spazmatics, and The Altons. Also new this summer is a fun Latin night, featuring Los Mocochetes, aimed to welcome the local Latino community and all Latin music lovers. Additionally, Snowmass is home to free live music throughout the season on Fanny Hill and at restaurants and venues around Snowmass Village, including two bonus concerts on Fanny Hill on July 3 for the Independence Day Weekend Celebration & Concert and on August 27, part of Snowmass Rendezvous.  www.gosnowmass.com/events/snowmass-free-concerts/.

 

ACES Guided Hikes – July 1-September 5: This summer, join a Naturalist from Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) for a free, guided hike amongst the flowers and fields of Snowmass. Guests can choose to join the Wildflower Walk, which takes place daily at 10:00am on the Nature Trail, or the Ice Age Discovery Hike at 1:00pm daily on the Discovery Trail. Both hikes feature facts, tips, and trivia from a knowledgeable ACES Naturalist, as well as the chance to explore and get to know the flora and fauna of Snowmass. Hikes leave daily from the Ticket Pavilion on the Snowmass Mall, through September 5. www.gosnowmass.com/activity/aces/

Sunset Tuesdays at Elk Camp & Bonus Bike Nights – July 5-August 9: Sunset Tuesdays are back at Elk Camp this summer with Elk Camp Restaurant, Snowmass Bike Park, and Lost Forest, hosting extended hours on Tuesday evenings through August 9. The experience includes a complimentary ride up the Elk Camp Gondola starting at 5:00pm to the restaurant where guests can enjoy locally-sourced ingredients in a farm-to-table inspired à la carte dinner with full cash bar, outdoor family activities and live music on the deck. In conjunction with Sunset Tuesdays at Elk Camp restaurant, the Snowmass Bike Park hosts Bonus Bike Nights on Tuesdays, staying open until dusk every Tuesday through August 9. Snowmass Art Walk – Any Time: The Snowmass Art Walk showcases the work of local Roaring Fork Valley artists with Village-wide outdoor art installations including murals and sculptures that complement the beauty of Snowmass. Installations are spread out around the Snowmass Mall, Snowmass Base Village, the Brush Creek Trail, and Anderson Ranch Arts Center, featuring all 2021 art pieces, as well as expanding to include all major art in the Village. The Collective Snowmass – Any Time: The Collective Snowmass, the hub for community activity in Snowmass Base Village, features a robust summer lineup of weekly programming including chess club, comedy nights, bingo nights, art shows, and yoga with King Yoga. The Collective also features yard games, splash pads, fountains, and pop-up events. Be sure to head downstairs to check out the Selfie Den and the Game Lounge, free from 2:00pm-4:00pm, $10/person for anyone 6 years or older from 4:00pm-close.
