Snowmass Village, Colo., (October 25, 2018) – The Winter 2018/2019 season showcases the best of Snowmass’ winter events. Snowmass kickoffs the season with the grand opening celebration of the new Snowmass Base Village on December 15, followed by favorites including the 36th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration, St. Patrick’s Day revelries, the return of daily Snowmass S’mores, and much more.
Highlighted Winter 2018/2019 Events
Snowmass Base Village Grand Opening Celebration – December 14-16
Celebrate the debut of Snowmass Base Village with a full weekend of festivities including parties around Snowmass. Enjoy the grand opening celebration in the new events plaza on Saturday, December 15, complete with a Bud Light Hi-Fit Concert, tours of the new Limelight Hotel Snowmass, live music, special guest appearances at the new climbing wall and ice rink, and fireworks to ring in a new era at Snowmass.
36th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration & Fireworks – March 5
A 36-year tradition in Snowmass, Mardi Gras kicks off with the early morning Mother of All Ascensions uphill race, followed by an afternoon of revelry with a traditional bead toss, the Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert in Snowmass Base Village and fireworks. Look for food and drink specials at restaurants and bars around Snowmass Village.
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration– March 17
Get lucky in Snowmass! Enjoy festive drinks and delicious fare both on-mountain and off-mountain with highlights including live music, plenty of green beer along with Irish Stew and corned beef & cabbage. Also look for the return of the third annual Ullrhof Games – complete with beer pong and corn hole – on the deck of the Ullrhof.
Snowmass Closing Weekend – April 20-21
Close out the season with a bang! Look forward to on-mountain and off-mountain celebrations all weekend long, including the Surf & Snow Beach Party at Elk Camp followed by a swimsuit ski to the base of the mountain.
2018/2019 Season Long Events
Snowmass S’mores
Guests visiting Snowmass this winter can experience a sweet type of après. Back for its second year, guests of all ages can enjoy Snowmass S’mores, free s’mores from 3:30–4:30pm every day throughout the winter season, courtesy of Snowmass Tourism. Guests can find branded s’mores carts (which resemble oversized marshmallows and include step by step s’moring instructions) at the fire pits in Snowmass Base Village and the Snowmass Mall. New for the 2018/2019 winter season, the Snowmass S’mores program sees the addition of special flavors to the Snowmass S’mores menu. Every day from November 22, 2018 – April 21, 2019 guests can enjoy a classic s’more, as well as a rotating flavor of the day. On holidays including Hanukkah, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, Mardi Gras (March 5), St. Patrick’s Day, and Snowmass Closing Weekend (April 20-21), guests can enjoy additional fun and funky flavors.
Bud Light Curling Sessions
On Fridays in February and March, athletes gather in the Snowmass Base Village Plaza for a weekly curling competition. February 8, 15, 22, March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 at 3:00pm.
Moonlit Treks
Spend the evening under the stars with a 1.2-mile snowshoe, walk, or cross-country ski around the Snowmass Club golf course, with a mid-way stop for cookies and hot chocolate at Anderson Ranch Arts Center. End with a family-style pasta dinner at Black Saddle Bar and Grille with live music and s’mores around the fire. Moonlit Treks feature an optional one hour guided tour with an ACES naturalist at 6:00pm. Moonlit Treks occur on the Saturday nearest the full moon each month – December 22, January 19, February 16, and March 16 from 5:30-9:00pm. Dinner is $25 adults / $15 kids (12 & under). The trek around the golf course is free.
