Snowmass Community Gathers for 50th Anniversary Photo

Snowmass Celebrates 50 Years in December 2017 and All Season Long

Snowmass, Colo., (August 21, 2017) – Last Thursday evening, during the final Snowmass Free Concert Series of the summer, Snowmass locals and folks from all over the Roaring Fork Valley gathered together to take a community photo in celebration of Snowmass’ upcoming 50th Anniversary. Snowmass celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Snowmass Ski Area December 15-17, 2017 with $6.50 lift tickets on Friday, December 15th, a weekend full of retro parties, food & drink specials, and much more. The festivities continue throughout the Winter 2017.2018 season.

“It was such a special experience to see our community come together to take this photo,” says Rose Abello, Tourism Director, Snowmass Tourism. “We had over 450 people come out to celebrate with us. In fact, many suggested this become an annual tradition.”

 

Snowmass Celebrates 50 Years

To kick-off the celebrations, on December 15, Snowmass Ski Area is offering a single-day lift ticket pricing of $6.50, the price that was charged on opening day in 1967. Additional celebrations are set to take place throughout the 2017-18 ski season. A sampling of 50th Anniversary offers throughout the season include:

  • Retro-themed parties, scavenger hunt, Cabin Jump, entertainment, and fireworks during the kick-off weekend.
  • $19.67 and $50 prix fixe menus at participating bars and restaurants.
  • Gold signs mark all of the original 1967 trails on the mountain and will remain on-mountain for the 2017/2018 ski season and into the future.
  • Official 50th anniversary merchandise for sale throughout season.
