Kick Off Summer in Snowmass: June 2022 Event Lineup

Events Include the New Snowmass Bike Festival, Ragnar Trail Colorado, Snowmass Free Concert Series: 30 Years of Music, and Much More

Snowmass Village, Colo., (May 26, 2022) – Summer in Snowmass Village kicks off in June 2022 with a robust lineup of events and activations. New to the June event lineup is the Snowmass Bike Festival, June 24-26, featuring live music, strider bike races, and all things biking. Returning to the June calendar are favorites including the Snowmass Rodeo, Ragnar Trail Colorado, VIDA MTB Series Flagship Clinic, the 30th Anniversary of the Snowmass Free Concert Series, and many more.

“June is a special time to be in Snowmass,” says Rose Abello, Tourism Director, Snowmass Tourism. “The trees and flowers are blooming, the weather is spectacular, and this summer’s lineup is amazing. Many of our beloved events (the Rodeo, Concerts, Art Walk, etc.) kick off in June, offering both locals and visitors quintessential summer experiences.”

June 2022 Event Lineup

Ragnar Trail Colorado – June 10-11: Ragnar Trail Colorado returns for the 8th year in 2022 for a gritty trifecta of the most scenic trail running loops Mother Nature can serve up. Each trail loop begins and ends at Ragnar Village in Snowmass Town Park. Teams of eight run relay style, rotating through three loops, varying from easy to difficult, over a 24-hour period. www.gosnowmass.com/event/ragnar/

Snowmass Rodeo – June 22-August 17: The Snowmass Rodeo celebrates 48 years of operations this summer. This long-standing Western tradition is a Snowmass summer staple, complete with music, cowboys and cowgirls, horses, livestock, and family fun. The Snowmass Rodeo takes place on Wednesdays at 7:00pm, rain or shine, with two rodeos on July 6 at 1:00pm and 7:00pm. www.SnowmassRodeo.org

Snowmass Free Concert Series: 30 Years of Music – June 16-August 25: Celebrating 30 years of free live music this summer, the Snowmass Free Concert Series, a local’s favorite, long standing summer tradition, returns to Fanny Hill every Thursday evening at 6:30pm, June 16-August 25. The weekly outdoor series features a spectrum of sounds including soul, pop, funk, rock & roll, country, bluegrass, and folk, with special nods to Fanny Hill concert’s past. The 2022 lineup includes beloved acts such as the Freddy Jones Band and Hazel Miller, while exciting new performers include MarchFourth, Spazmatics, and The Altons. Also new this summer is a fun Latin night, featuring Los Mocochetes, aimed to welcome the local Latino community and all Latin music lovers. Additionally, Snowmass is home to free live music throughout the season on Fanny Hill and at restaurants and venues around Snowmass Village, including two bonus concerts on Fanny Hill on July 3 for the Independence Day Weekend Celebration & Concert and on August 27, part of Snowmass Rendezvous.  www.gosnowmass.com/events/snowmass-free-concerts/.

 

ACES Guided Hikes – June 18-September 5: This summer, join a Naturalist from Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) for a free, guided hike amongst the flowers and fields of Snowmass. Guests can choose to join the Wildflower Walk, which takes place daily at 10:00am on the Nature Trail, or the Ice Age Discovery Hike at 1:00pm daily on the Discovery Trail. Both hikes feature facts, tips, and trivia from a knowledgeable ACES Naturalist, as well as the chance to explore and get to know the flora and fauna of Snowmass. Hikes leave daily from the Ticket Pavilion on the Snowmass Mall, June 18-September 5. www.gosnowmass.com/activity/aces/

Elk Camp Gondola – June 21-October 2: Enjoy a ride on the Elk Camp Gondola in Snowmass! Elk Camp Gondola gives access to the Lost Forest, Elk Camp Restaurant, and Snowmass Bike Park. Use Elk Camp as a base to ride 90+ miles of Snowmass trails, part of the Aspen Snowmass/ Roaring Fork Valley IMBA Gold-Level Ride Center, the only Gold-Level Ride Center in Colorado, only the 5th in United States, and the 7th in the world. Open daily June 21-September 5; Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays only, September 9-11, 16-18, 23-25 and Sept. 30-Oct. 2. www.AspenSnowmass.com

*New – Snowmass Bike Festival – June 25-26: The Snowmass Bike Festival, new for summer 2022, celebrates all aspects of biking. Taking place on the opening weekend of the Elk Camp Gondola, the two-day festival features live music, strider bike races for budding bikers, ages 5 years old and under, and more. Festival goers are encouraged to get out and explore Snowmass’ 90+ miles of bike terrain. www.gosnowmass.com/events.

VIDA MTB Series Flagship Clinic – June 25-26: Supported by YETI Cycles, YETI Cycles VIDA MTB Series presented by Shimano returns to Snowmass for two clinics in June and September. The VIDA MTB Series Flagship Clinics are two-day women’s only mountain bike clinics. The clinics provide women with the opportunity to increase their mountain biking confidence, learn new skills, and to connect with VIDA coaches on proper biking technique. www.gosnowmass.com/event/vida-mtb-series/

Sunset Tuesdays at Elk Camp & Bonus Bike Nights – June 28-August 9: Sunset Tuesdays are back at Elk Camp this summer with Elk Camp Restaurant, Snowmass Bike Park, and Lost Forest, hosting extended hours on Tuesday evenings from June 28 through August 9. The experience includes a complimentary ride up the Elk Camp Gondola starting at 5:00pm to the restaurant where guests can enjoy locally-sourced ingredients in a farm-to-table inspired à la carte dinner with full cash bar, outdoor family activities and live music on the deck. In conjunction with Sunset Tuesdays at Elk Camp restaurant, the Snowmass Bike Park hosts Bonus Bike Nights on Tuesdays, staying open until dusk every Tuesday from June 28-August 9. Anderson Ranch Film Screening in Partnership with Aspen Film, “The Art of Making It” – June 29: From the producer of the Emmy-nominated “The Price of Everything”, “The Art of Making It” is a film about who gets seen and who gets left behind in today’s seductive, secretive and unregulated art world. The film follows a diverse group of compelling young artists on the brink of unimaginable success or failure as they challenge systems, break barriers and risk it all with the goal of making it in an industry where all the rules are currently being rewritten. The screening is immediately followed by a live panel discussion with the producer and several artists who participated in the documentary. Snowmass Art Walk – Any Time: The Snowmass Art Walk showcases the work of local Roaring Fork Valley artists with Village-wide outdoor art installations including murals and sculptures that complement the beauty of Snowmass. Installations are spread out around the Snowmass Mall, Snowmass Base Village, the Brush Creek Trail, and Anderson Ranch Arts Center, featuring all 2021 art pieces, as well as expanding to include all major art in the Village. The Collective Snowmass – Any Time: The Collective Snowmass, the hub for community activity in Snowmass Base Village, features a robust summer lineup of weekly programming including chess club, comedy nights, bingo nights, art shows, and yoga with King Yoga. The Collective also features yard games, splash pads, fountains, and pop-up events. Be sure to head downstairs to check out the Selfie Den and the Game Lounge, free from 2:00pm-4:00pm, $10/person for anyone 6 years or older from 4:00pm-close.
