On a recent Friday night high up in a mountain lodge at Snowmass, Colo., hundreds of enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the resort’s 50th anniversary. They came in classic gear, some wearing Nordic sweaters knitted for the ski school by the mom of legendary skier Stein Eriksen. They danced, reminisced and noshed on throwback food and classic cocktails such as Harvey Wallbangers.
And while the ski resort celebrates 50 years of success, Snowmass also has its eye on the future, thanks to a $600 million base project — the largest current ski resort project in North America.
