Join the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) and The Collective Snowmass for the winter speaker series, Wild Perspectives. The series features exciting accounts of world travel, adventure and the natural world through stories and visual media.

About this week’s presentation:
Born in Chile, Goldie-Ahumada spent much of his childhood living in South America before immigrating to the US. In the latter half of his childhood, he called the mountains of Colorado home and grew to explore its rugged backyard peaks through the lens of backcountry skiing and ultra-running. During the summer of 2022, he left the valley to gain a deep and authentic cultural understanding of his home country through travel, environmental justice and ski-mountaineering. On this month-long trip, he explored many corners of the country and found all types of snow conditions along the way. Join this Wild Perspective as he breaks down the details of his trip, the ecology of the Chilean Andes and how to find snow in the Austral winter. Now settled in the RVF, he’s a local physics teacher when not adventuring; he seeks opportunities to support his community through equitable and intentional education practices.

Wild Perspectives is free and open to the public. Please consider making a $10 suggested donation to benefit ACES’ programs in environmental science education. Seating is first-come, first-served and patrons are encouraged to arrive early.
